Hasbro held its first-ever Ignite series for investors to display what is to come in the next couple of years. The event, among other things, saw the reveal of new Rise of the Beasts movie art, and yes, there is more than meets the eye with it.

Labeled as a tool to show investors and retailers alike what is new and exciting in the coming years, the Ignite event did not disappoint. We were able to see new types of conversions for toys in the upcoming Earth Spark line, but the big reveal was undoubtedly the new poster work, as well as an updated description of the film.

A closer look at the poster art will look familiar to Beast Wars fans as some art depicts characters that are very familiar-looking: Airazor, Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Scorponak, and perhaps even a little peek at the original Optimus Prime, who will also be in the film, voiced once again by the legendary Peter Cullen. The center of the poster is doused in a bright light that could be an homage to the center of the Matrix of Leadership as it was seen in the original series as opposed to its form in Revenge of the Fallen.

Jenny Whitlock, Vice President for Global Franchise Strategy & Management gave a brief synopsis, where she unveiled a new movie backdrop and had some words to expound on the upcoming film.

“We’re partnering with eOne, Paramount, and a visionary new director to bring to life a Transformers story like you’ve never seen. The film will pick up after the events of 2018’s Bumblebee and follows Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and an unlikely team of humans who are joined by a group of powerful new allies; the Transformers Beasts. The introduction of beast characters will be a significant moment for all. From kids to core fans, and especially those who grew up with Beast Wars in the 90s. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts raises the stakes and set us up for what’s to come over the next few years in our film franchise.”

Transformers: Earth Spark was mentioned as well.

“Transformers: Earthspark presents many firsts for Transformers that we’re bringing to life for kids. Leaning into insights, we’ve identified core pillars of play that allow us to take conversion to another level and connect with kids to deliver on the magic they want [to be] brought to life in toys. Surprise Conversion, Classic Conversion, and Magic Conversion will create a true show-to-shelf moment for the line and an innovative new way to convert Earthspark’s greatest heroes.”

It sounds like there will be a lot to keep new and long-time fans of the franchise interested in the next couple of years. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is being advertised as the biggest Hasbro project to date, and with it, some big names. Ron Perlman, Peter Cullen, Anthony Ramos, and Dominique Fishback to name a few. The countdown is on until the beasts rise on June 9th, 2023.
