Comedy veterans Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel have signed on as writers for the Touchstone Pictures comedy Bob: The Musical. Mark Waters (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) is attached to direct.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob: The Musical centers on a thirtysomething guy who hates musicals and wakes up to find his entire life has become one. Tony-winning and Oscar-nominated composer-lyricist Marc Shaiman is writing the movie's songs.

Disney bought Mike Bender's (brother of producer Chris) original pitch in 2004. Since then, John August (Tim Burton's Corpse Bride) and Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) did their song-and-dance on the script.

No production date has been set.
