Nicholas Meyer will be revisiting one of America's greatest presidents for his next film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meyer has been hired to write a biopic on George Washington for Vulcan Films.

Vulcan's Paul Allen said he wanted the film to offer an historically accuracte portrayal of America's beginnings and our first President.

"Washington was the indispensable man, the physical embodiment of America's revolutionary ideals and identity," Allen said. "As we consider America's role in today's ever-changing world, understanding the man who had a pivotal role during the birth of our nation is essential."

Meyer, who recently wrote Elegy, also has a wealth of knowledge on early American history and Washington's life as well. No production schedule has been announced for the film.
