Nickelodeon is moving into the world of web specific content.

Home Media Retailing reports that the company "has launched a major initiative to develop non-linear, multi-platform children's content."

Apparently, Nickelodeon will be committing many millions of dollars to create brand new programs "for non-linear platforms." They are even creating a brand new animation laboratory called "Inkubators."

This lab "will be dedicated to the development of original animated content made specifically for a range of platforms, including broadband; wireless; portable video devices; online and gaming."
