Nicolas Cage has always had a unique outlook on life, and it seems that was never truer than in his childhood when he believed he was an alien from another planet. The Renfield star revealed in a new interview with Rampstyle magazine that he was so convinced that he was not of Earth that when he was told he had regular human organs and a skeleton, it came as a complete shock to him.

Nicolas Cage has played some pretty wild characters over the years, none more so than the fictionalized version of himself he plays in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, but it continues to be proven that none can quite compare with the actor’s real life. His new revelation, that he believed was an alien, is right up there with his most bizarre claims. He said:

“My father told me he felt like he had to introduce himself to me because I was such an alien. I was shocked the day I went to the doctor’s office as a child and I found out that I had normal organs and a normal skeleton, because I was certain I was from another planet.”

Cage has always been an enigma in Hollywood, with appearances in movies that are either extremely well-reviewed or completely torn apart. However, the last few years have seen the actor having his own renaissance, which seems set to continue in the coming years. This will be great news for Cage’s large fan base and could well end up gaining him even more followers in the process.

Nicolas Cage has had a varied career, with roles in comedy movies, dramas, action, horror, and even superhero genres. From a young age, Cage explained that he felt he had to become an actor and is really happy to be working with some comedy roles again, although he also has a soft spot for those independent movies that have given him some of his most outstanding parts. He previously explained:

“One of the stars that I really admire from the Golden Age [of Hollywood] is Tony Curtis. I liked that he could do something like The Boston Strangler, but he could also do Some Like It Hot or Sweet Smell Of Success. He was this gifted talent that could do comedy and drama. Right now, I’m excited that the comedy is back on the menu. It hasn’t been there for, gosh, 15 years. That’s nice that I may have the opportunity to do more comedy. But I’ve never done a musical. That would be something that I would be curious about. [Indie movies are] my true passion, movies like Pig or Leaving Las Vegas or Joe. Bringing Out The Dead – I saw that recently. I have to say that might be the best movie I ever made.”

Cage will soon be seen taking on the role of Dracula in the Universal comedy horror Renfield, which is set for release on April 14, 2023.
