Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck) has signed a three and a half year deal with NewsCorp worth $15 million; it spans FX, 20th Century Fox TV and the Fox network.
Under the deal, Murphy will stay on as showrunner for a fifth season of FX's top-rated Nip/Tuck: The Complete Third Season; at the same time, he'll exclusively develop series with 20th Century Fox - which includes a first-look deal with Fox Broadcasting, says Variety.
Also part of the deal, Murphy is also firming plans to spend his hiatus directing Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts in the sexy thriller, Need. The two Aussie actresses will play archenemies; Watts will play a psychiatrist, Kidman the unstable patient who steals the shrink's husband.
No production schedule has been set for Need.
