Ahead of its release next month, an all-new trailer has been released for the upcoming thriller Night Hunter. Starring Henry Cavill (Justice League) on the search for a deadly murderer, the movie will first be available exclusively on DIRECTV on Aug. 8 followed by a theatrical and VOD release on Sept. 6.

Also appearing in Night Hunter along with Cavill are Alexandra Daddario (Rampage), Brendan Fletcher (Arrow), Ben Kingsley (Gandhi), Nathan Fillion (Castle), and Minka Kelly (Titans). With Christopher Pettit and Rick Dugdale producing, the movie is also written and directed by David Raymond.

Night Hunter is described as an "action-packed thrill ride that will shock you at every turn." It follows police detective Marshall (Henry Cavill) and local vigilante Cooper (Kingsley) whose troubles are just beginning when they arrest a deadly serial killer, placing him behind bars. From prison, the murderer masterminds a series of deadly attacks, and it becomes a race against time for the two heroes to stay one step ahead of the madman's evil plans. Apparently, the only way to win this deadly game is to get inside the mind of a killer, but will they be able to do so in time?

Henry Cavill might be on the hunt for new movie roles, following his run as Superman in the DCEU. After first appearing as Clark Kent in Man of Steel and reprising the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, Cavill had been reported to be finished with the character. While Cavill hasn't personally confirmed he will no longer play Superman, new has remained very quiet as to the status of the character in the DCEU ever since. However, in addition to Night Hunter, the actor can also be seen in the lead role of the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher, which is based on the popular video game franchise of the same name.

It's always awesome to see Ben Kingsley back on the screen as well. The veteran actor won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his 1982 portrayal of Mohandas Gandhi in Gandhi, and continues to be impressive in his dozens of roles ever since. This includes acclaimed roles in Schindler's List, Sexy Beast, and House of Sand and Fog, more recently appearing in movies like Iron Man 3 and The Jungle Book. Clearly, seeing Kingsley teaming up with Cavill to take on a murderous mastermind in Night Hunter should also make for another memorable role.

With an excellent cast and a solid trailer, Night Hunter looks to be a pretty compelling watch. Cavill's new role seems to be about as far removed from Superman as you can get, and it's interesting to see the actor taking on other parts. You can first check it out exclusively on DIRECTV on Aug. 8 before it comes to theaters and on demand on Sept. 6.
