Niki Caro will write and direct Ken Dornstein's memoir, The Boy Who Fell Out of the Sky for producer Richard Suckle, Charles Roven and Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film tells the story of Dornstein's brother David, who died with 269 others in the 1988 Pam Am Flight 103 airline terrorist bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland. The Hollywood Reporter notes the film also will follow the story of Ken, who learns more about his older brother and comes to terms with the tragedy after discovering hundreds of thousands of words that David, a promising writer, left behind.

A quick turnaround is expected for The Boy Who Fell Out of the Sky.
