Gangster Squad was originally supposed to arrive in theaters way back in September, but it got bumped due to unforeseen circumstances that rendered it a tad controversial. It was pushed back to January at a time when all of its promotional materials were ready to go, and trailers were already saturating the market world wide. It then had to sit and wait things out.
