When Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit theaters last year, it was a big hit, taking in $485 million worldwide from a $125 million production budget, which naturally led to the sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 moving forward. Production is still under way on the follow-up, but we know that the sequel already rectifies some issues fans had with the first movie. Largely, the omission of several fan favorite characters such as Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly), who all appear in the sequel. We've already seen plenty of photos of Casey Jones in action, donning his trademark mask and hockey stick, but Stephen Amell revealed in an interview with IGN that his version of the character is much different.

"It's certainly not your father's or your younger self's Casey Jones, but that's because we meet him at a very different time in his development. He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love. He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they're [a] law-abiding citizen and he's met with laughter and scorn... he decides to take things into his own hands."

We saw last month that Casey Jones gets a new ride as well, with the actor revealing his Dodge Hellcat Challenger on set. We've also seen photos of Casey Jones interacting with the Ninja Turtles, along with April O'Neil (Megan Fox), but we're not quite sure how this character is introduced into the story. Aside from Casey, Bebop and Rocksteady, there have been rumors of a live-action Krang included in this follow-up, but that was never confirmed.

Will Arnett is also back as Vern Fenwick, April's photographer, with supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio playing herself, Vern's new love interest. Tyler Perry also joins the cast as Baxter Stockman, along with Brian Tee as the new Shredder and Laura Linney in an unconfirmed role. There has been speculation that she might be playing April's mother, but that was never confirmed.

Dave Green (Earth to Echo) is directing from a script by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum, who wrote the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Are you looking forward to Stephen Amell's portrayal of Casey Jones? Or do you think Elias Koteas should have reprised his role from the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie?
