Jonathan Liebesman's reboot of the classic kid-friendly action franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, now simply called Ninja Turtles, has been slightly pushed up to June 6, 2014 from it's original May 16, 2014 release date.

Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco co-wrote the screeplay, with Megan Fox announced as the first actor signed to the anticipated film.

Her character has not yet been revealed, but she is rumored to be playing the Turtles' gal pal April O'Neil, who started in the comic books as a computer programer but was later changed to a television news reporter in the animated television series and live action film franchise. No details have been given for the character's background in the reboot, but its been rumored that she will go back to her roots as the assistant to Baxter Stockman, helping to program Mouser robots used in a series of bank heists before she decides to embark on a career in the media.

Ninja Turtles move by Paramount Pictures puts the film between the release of Disney/Pixar's The Good Dinosaur and Universal's Jurassic Park IV. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller are producing.

The project is expect to begin production this April.
