J.J. Abrams revealed last month that his Star Trek 2 sequel may feature multiple villains, including Khan. Badass Digest has a new report from a Star Trek 2 insider, which reveals that Khan will not be the villain of Star Trek 2.

It was stated that the sequel will not feature a traditional villain at all. Instead, Star Trek 2 will be centered on a classic character from the original 1966 Star Trek TV series. Here's a quote from the site's source, which indicates a few character choices from the original series:

"It's definitely a character that will make fans of (the original series) excited. Think along the lines of Harry Mudd or Trelane or Gary Mitchell or the Talosians or the Horta. Actually it's one of those that I named."

When pressed for more clarification, the source wouldn't go into further detail, but the site speculates that Gary Mitchell will be the mystery character in the sequel. You can CLICK HERE for the site's rundown of all of these characters.
