Earlier today, it was announced that Captain America: The Winter Soldier would be hitting Blu-ray and DVD on September 9, and it was believed to include a new Marvel One-Shot. But Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that's not the case. There will be no new Marvel One-Shot created for this upcoming release.

Marvel hasn't confirmed that it is ending its run of Marvel One-Shot short films, which so far include 2011's Marvel One-Shot: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer and Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant, 2012's Marvel One-Shot: Item 47, 2013's Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter and 2014's Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King. If a new short is made, fans won't see it until the Guardians of the Galaxy home video release this winter.

This news comes as a surprise, since the shorts are incredibly popular, and have even inspired two TV series, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel's Agent Carter.

Marvel's own Agent M confirmed the news later on in the day:

It was stated in the past that Marvel would halt the One-Shots if they did not have a good story idea, or if a feature film needed extra attention. Both Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron are speeding towards release, and Marvel has been focusing extra attention on replacing Ant-Man director Edgar Wright. It is not known if any of these projects got in the way.
