According to The Wrap, Noah Baumbach (Greenberg) has inked a deal to direct The Emperor's Children for Imagine Entertainment.

Ron Howard was originally slated to direct this project but he and Brian Grazer will now produce it.

Keira Knightley, Eric Bana and Richard Gere are also attached to the film, which is presently looking for financing. The hope is that this movie will begin shooting this summer.

Noah Baumbach is adapting this project from Claire Messud's 2006 best-selling novel. It follows a trio of Brown University graduates who are moving into their 30s. They struggle to deal with the lofty expectations that have been held for their personal and professional lives. The Emperor's Children was set in New York in the months that led up to and following 9/11.
