Nobody producer David Leitch and 87North Productions have seemingly confirmed that a sequel, currently known as Nobody 2, is a go. While nothing has yet been officially confirmed regarding the continuing adventures of unexpected action man Bob Odenkirk, Leitch and 87North Productions have now taken to social media to hint at the likelihood of the follow-up, sharing a behind-the-scenes image from the first Nobody alongside the promising caption, “can’t wait to create more chaos with this crazy crew on #NOBODY2.”

The image gives us a look at the good times that the likes of Bob Odenkirk, Christopher Lloyd, and RZA had while filming the first Nobody, with the cast and crew no doubt eager to make another installment in the action franchise.

Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad, Nobody features Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk as the seemingly mild-mannered Hutch Mansell. He begins the movie as an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking life's indignities on the chin and never pushing back. A nobody. When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. His teenage son, Blake, is disappointed in him and his wife, Becca, seems to pull only further away.

The aftermath of the incident strikes a match to Hutch's long-simmering rage, triggering dormant instincts and propelling him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills. In a barrage of fists, gunfire, and squealing tires, Hutch must save his family from a dangerous adversary and ensure that he will never be underestimated as a nobody again. The likes of Connie Nielsen, Aleksei Serebryakov, RZA, Michael Ironside, Colin Salmon, and Christopher Lloyd star alongside Odenkirk in the central role.

Nobody screenwriter Derek Kolstad has since revealed that, not only is he hopeful that Nobody 2 will get going soon, but he already has an opening scene in mind. "Remember that the first scene in the movie? That is the first thing I ever pitched Bob, in the meeting, because I had the dream the night before,” the screenwriter behind John Wick explained back in April last year. “And I told Sonia, my wife, before the meeting, she said you gotta open with that. I pitched that and Bob's like... 'you're f-ing high, right?' And so, on the second one, I have the opening scene. And we're all just chuckling and cackling when you see this thing because it's in line with that. And I always want to begin that way."

Nobody was released back in March 2021, and was met with applause from both critics audiences alike thanks to its no-nonsense action and against-type performance from Bob Odenkirk. The actor recently suffered a heart attack whilst filming Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, and has since revealed that making Nobody may well have saved his life. "In fact, it saved my life,” he said. “We were talking about Nobody, and one of the things that saved me was, I learned how to work out.”

With Odenkirk now doing well, we can only hope that we aren't waiting too long for the triumphant return of Nobody.
