Legendary Pictures has brought on Noomi Rapace to co-star alongside Will Smith in their adaptation Brilliance. Will Smith entered early talks back in February, and while it isn't known if his deal has closed yet, Deadline reports he is expected to star.

The project is based on Marcus Sakey's 2013 novel, the first in a planned trilogy, which is set in a world where a rare group of people known as "brilliants" are born with extraordinary abilities. The story follows a government agent who has superb tracking abilities, tasked with hunting down a dangerous terrorist in Wyoming, although the agent comes to learn this wanted man has his own set of special skills. No details were given for Noomi Rapace's character.

Julius Onah (Undefeated) is directing from an adapted screenplay by David Koepp (Premium Rush). Joe Roth and Palak Patel are producing alongside Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. No production schedule was given.

Noomi Rapace will next be seen in The Drop and Child 44.
