North Country couldn't make it to the top of the DVD sales chart for the week ending February 26, says The Hollywood Reporter. Even though the Warner Home Video title has 2 Oscar nominations this year, for best actress (Charlize Theron) and supporting actress (Frances McDormand) honors, the DVD still debuted at a lowly number 6 on VideoScan's First Alert chart.

Two other newly released theatricals, Sony Pictures' Rent and New Line Cinema's Domino, took the two top spots on the preliminary national sales chart, while the previous week's top DVD seller, Lionsgate's Saw II, held strong at No. 3.

Also beating North Country in DVD sales was a direct-to-video feature, Lionsgate's Ultimate Avengers: The Movie, at No. 4, and a second holdover, Buena Vista's first-season TV-DVD set of Grey's Anatomy, at No. 5.
