Nu Image/Millenium Films is moving ahead with a big screen adaptation of Jacqueline van Maarsen's best-selling memoir My Friend Anne Frank. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alberto Negrin will be directing this upcoming drama.

In Diary of Anne Frank, Van Maarsen was described as Frank's best friend Jopie. Maarsen had attended school with Anne, and later spoke with her father Otto after the end of World War II. My Friend Anne Frank will follow the young friends' separate interments in different concentration camps.

The film does not have a set start date at this time, but will most likely head into production early next year.
