Magnolia Pictures announced today that Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac will be released in two parts next spring.

Nymphomaniac: Part 1 will be released in theaters on March 21, 2014, following a VOD release on March 6, 2014. The drama will be going up against Divergent, Muppets Most Wanted and Stretch in wide release. It will also face Bad Words and Blood Ties in limited release.

Nymphomaniac: Part 2 is set for an April 18, 2014 release in theaters, with an April 3, 2014 debut on VOD. The second half of this erotic tale will square off against Bears and Transcendence.

Charlotte Gainsbourg stars in Nymphomaniac as Joe, a young woman who tells her sexually-charged life story to an older man (Stellan Skarsgård) who discovers her badly beaten in an alley.

Part 1, which also stars Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Connie Nielsen and Udo Kier, focuses on her adolescent life, with Stacy Martin portraying Joe in flashbacks. Part 2 focuses on Joe's adult life, co-starring Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth and Jean-Marc Barr alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Shia LaBeouf and Stacy Martin.
