The titular star of Obi-Wan Kenobi is not happy about the online harassment co-star Moses Ingram has endured. On the official Star Wars Twitter account, a video was posted featuring Ewan McGregor speaking about the show's success. He also touched on the negativity that's been directed at Ingram from toxic Star Wars fans, feeling that this behavior means they aren't real fans of the franchise at all.

"This weekend, Star Wars fans made Obi-Wan Kenobi the most-watched Disney+ original series premiere of all time. And for that, I would say a big thank you, and it just goes to show what this family can do," McGregor said.

The actor then spoke about the online harassment Ingram has been receiving by a small portion of the fan base. As Ingram also recently explained, McGregor says how she had been sent "the most horrendous, racist DMs." It bothered McGregor so much to hear about this that he felt it necessary to make a statement to stand by her.

"I heard some of them this morning and it broke my heart," he said. "Moses is a brilliant actor, she's a brilliant woman, and she's absolutely amazing in this series. She brings so much to this series, and she brings so much to the franchise. And it just sickened me to my stomach to hear this had been happening."

McGregor added, "I just want to say as the leading actor on the series, as the executive producer on the series, that we stand with Moses. We love Moses. And if you're sending her bullying messages, you're no Star Wars fan in my mind. There's no place for racism in this world, and I totally stand with Moses."

Moses Ingram, who plays Reva Sevander in Obi-Wan Kenobi, recently revealed how the influx of viewers to Obi-Wan Kenobi came with some toxicity from a certain portion of the fan base. She thanked the people that have stood by her and showed support.

"There’s nothing anybody can do about this,” Ingram said on her Instagram Stories, including some examples of the awful messages she'd received. “There’s nothing anybody can do to stop this hate. I question my purpose in even being here in front of you saying that this is happening. I don’t really know.”

She added, “The thing that bothers me is this feeling inside of myself, that no one has told me, but this feeling that I have to shut up and take it, that I have to grin and bear it. And I’m not built like that. So, I wanted to come on and say thank you to the people who show up for me in the comments and the places that I’m not going to put myself. And to the rest of y’all, y’all weird.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi is now streaming on Disney+.
