For those who believe they have already been given a look at the surprises Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi has to offer from the trailer, there are apparently a lot more to come as Grand Inquisitor actor Rupert Friend has revealed that there are a lot of “wonderful cameos” yet to be revealed when the show premieres next month. Obi-Wan Kenobi is just one of the highly anticipated series coming to Disney+ this summer, and there are many Star Wars fans who have been waiting a long time to see Ewan McGregor’s Jedi back on screens again.

Rupert Friend joined HeyUGuys to discuss his new series Anatomy of a Scandal and as you would expect he was asked about his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi and what fans can expect from the new show. He revealed:

"If it's possible to be any more excited than folks already are, I would be. I think [the series] is one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon. I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films. You know, we can't obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part. And wonderful cameos from people I obviously can't tell you, but Easter eggs galore... Yeah, it's a thrilling ride."

Hayden Christensen Will Return as Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ Miniseries

Back when Obi-Wan Kenobi was originally planned as a movie, there was a belief that Ewan McGregor would be returning to the Star Wars franchise as the title character, but there were few other details ever known as to what the storyline was or who would be involved. Recently, it has been revealed that at one point the movie was set to see the live action return of Darth Maul, and it is only with the development of the series that Darth Vader became the villain of the show, which set up the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

Speaking to EW last month, Christensen revealed how he was looking forward to returning to the role, and how strange it was to be doing it all again. He said, "The whole experience was very surreal. The first time that I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again, that was a very special moment for me, and one that I'll remember for a very, very long time. Deborah came up and we spent the day chatting. She told me a little bit about the project and her vision for it, and I just thought that it sounded wonderful. I was very excited to come back."

Picking up the story of Obi-Wan and Vader a decade after their fateful meeting on Mustafar in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the series will be set in what has been described as a dark time for the Jedi Order. With the promise of another epic meeting of the pair, Star Wars fans are pumped for the arrival of the series on May 27, but will likely have to wait until later in the series to see Kenobi and Vader meet again.
