With its cast now in place for the highly-anticipated Ocean's Eight, Warner Bros. has set a June 8, 2018 release date for this project. This new all-female reboot will square off against what could be a huge summer blockbuster, Paramount's Transformers 6, while also arriving two weeks before Disney and LucasFilm's Star Wars spin-off centering on Han Solo. It will also open one week before Disney Pixar's long-awaited Toy Story 4 and two weeks before Universal's Jurassic World 2.

Entertainment Weekly reported on the release date last night, although there are still no plot details that have surfaced yet. We last reported on the project this past August, when it was revealed that production is being eyed to begin in October. We still don't have an exact production start date yet, but with the main cast members in place, filming could begin any day now. Jennifer Lawrence was previously eyed for a role, but she is not attached to the project at this time.

We first reported on this project last October, when it was revealed that Sandra Bullock was being eyed to star. Ocean's Eight was the brainchild of Ocean's Eleven star George Clooney, director Steven Soderbergh and producer Jerry Weintraub, who hired writer Olivia Milch (Queen & Country) to work on the script. Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) is set to direct, although it isn't known if there are still more roles that need to be filled.

Sandra Bullock leads a cast that also includes Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and rapper/actress Nora Lum, a.k.a. Awkwafina. Earlier reports revealed that Elizabeth Banks was set to come aboard, although it isn't known if she is still attached to the project. If she isn't, then there is one more role left to be cast of the eight main characters, not to mention supporting roles.

No plot details have been released for Ocean's Eight at this time. There have been rumors that Sandra Bullock is actually playing the ex-con sister George Clooney's beloved character Danny Ocean from 2001's Ocean's Eleven, 2004's Ocean's Twelve and 2007's Ocean's Thirteen. It hasn't been confirmed if George Clooney will be back as Danny Ocean, but it certainly seems possible.
