Just two days after Leslie Mann joined the cast of Las Madres, actress Octavia Spencer has signed on.

The story follows three unemployed women whose economic prospects are looking grim. They decide to hunt down a wanted criminal who has a hefty reward out for his capture. Leslie Mann and Octavia Spencer are likely playing two of the three friends, with the final main role yet to be cast, along with the criminal.

Lona Williams (Drop Dead Gorgeous) wrote the first draft of the script, based on her original pitch, with Pam Brady (Hamlet 2) currently performing rewrites. Scott Stuber and Dylan Clarke are producing for Bluegrass Films, although no director is attached at this time.

Octavia Spencer, who won an Oscar for her role in The Help, will next be seen in Snowpiercer and Get on Up. She also lends her voice to DreamWorks Animation's B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations, which hits theaters on July 2, 2015.
