After returning to his iconic character Han Solo in last month's blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Harrison Ford has found his follow-up. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the icon has joined Natalie Dormer in the upcoming political thriller Official Secrets. They join a cast that also includes Anthony Hopkins, Paul Bettany and Martin Freeman.

The plot is adapted from the book The Spy Who Tried to Stop a War: Katharine Gun and the Secret Plot to Sanction the Iraq Invasion by Marcia Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell. Natalie Dormer is portraying Katharine Gun, a young British spy who was arrested for leaking information to the press. The information claimed the U.S. engaged in illegal activities to pressure the United Nations Security Council into passing their resolution to go to war with Iraq.

Paul Bettany is playing Martin Bright, the London Observer reporter whom Gun leaked the information to. The reporter goes to great lengths to set Gun free, only to realize that both of their lives are in extreme danger. Harrison Ford is portraying a CIA agent, while Anthony Hopkins is set to play a retired U.K. general and Martin Freeman is playing the London Observer's foreign affairs editor. Production is scheduled to begin this May in the U.K.

Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom) is directing from an adapted screenplay by Sara Bernstein and Gregory Bernstein (The Conspirator). UTA Independent Film Group packaged the project and represents domestic rights. The Solution Entertainment Group will provide financing and will introduce the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming European Film Market, during the Berlin Film Festival.

Harrison Ford is set to reprise his iconic role as Rick Deckard in the Untitled Blade Runner Project, which starts production in July. There have also been rumors that he is coming back for Indiana Jones 5, but that project hasn't been officially announced yet. Anthony Hopkins will next be seen on the big screen in Collide, and on the upcoming HBO series Westworld. What do you think about the growing cast for Official Secrets?
