In a story from Risky Business, Oliver Stone is presently in talks to helm Travis McGee for 20th Century Fox. Leonardo DiCaprio is on board to star as the title character.

Travis McGee is a hero of 21 detective novels that were written by John D. MacDonald and this could lead to another Fox franchise. The film is going to be based on the first book in the series, "The Deep Blue Good-by," that was published in 1964.

In this novel, the Florida-based "salvage consultant" leaves his houseboat to go on a search for a treasure hidden by a soldier after World War II.

Dana Stevens (City of Angels) and Kario Salem (The Score) have written the screenplay.
