Olivia Munn is in negotiations to join Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in Ride Along 2. The actress still has to work out shooting dates, so she can film both the comedy sequel and Season 3 of HBO's The Newsroom, which starts production very soon.

No details were given for Olivia Munn's character, but the story reportedly takes place in Miami, where James Payton (Ice Cube) and Ben Barner (Kevin Hart) visit for, "fun, chaos and shenanigans." Benjamin Bratt signed on for an unspecified role last week.

Tim Story (Ride Along, Think Like a Man Too) is directing from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (Clash of the Titans, R.I.P.D.).

Ice Cube and his CubeVision partner Matt Alvarez are producing alongside William Packer and Larry Brezner. The original Ride Along set a box office record for the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, with an impressive $41.5 million opening weekend en route to a $134.2 million domestic haul earlier this year.

Olivia Munn stars in the new thriller Deliver Us from Evil, which opens in theaters tomorrow, July 2, and she will next be seen in Mortdecai, alongside Johnny Depp.
