Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds was just released today on DVD, two-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray, but last night Tarantino decided to have one last theatrical screening for the fans before this DVD/BD release. We hit the red carpet last night at the New Bevery Cinema in Los Angeles and one of the actors we talked to was Omar Doom, who plays PFC. Omar Ulmer, and is no stranger to Tarantino and his work, having appeared in Tarantino's last film, Death Proof. However, Doom was still in awe when it comes to this film.
"I've actually known Quentin for about 10 years now," Doom said on the red carpet. "Getting the script for this movie, reading that, the hairs sticking up on the back of my neck, this is the project that every actor wants to do. They want to work on a project like this, that they believe in so much, with a director that is an artist that you can just throw yourself to and you know you're in good hands."
Since Doom has appeared in Tarantino's last three films, I had to ask if Doom was gearing up for what could be Tarantino's next film - a prequel to Inglourious Basterds.
"Well hey, we're all hoping for a prequel," Doom said. "Let's just get all the Basterds together. Let's do this. Brad (Pitt) wants to do it, Quentin wants to do it. Let's do it."
When I asked about any story ideas about that possible prequel, though, Doom couldn't say anything about it.
"That I don't think I can talk about... without killing you," Doom said, jokingly.
When I asked Doom if he'd appear in other potential projects like Kill Bill 3, Doom made it pretty clear he'd do whatever it takes to work with Tarantino.
"He knows that I'll work with him in a second, on any movie that he does," Doom said.
Be sure to check out Omar Doom and the rest of this incredible cast in Inglourious Basterds, which is now available on DVD, two-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray on home video shelves everywhere.
