Lost actress Emilie de Ravin has signed on for an arc in the new ABC fairy tale series Once Upon a Time. The actress will be reunited with series creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, who served as writers on Lost.

Emilie de Ravin will portray Belle from Beauty and the Beast in the series, which takes place both in present day and in a mysterious land where all fairy tale creatures live. Belle will also have a connection to Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle), and it is said that Gaston will be featured as well. It isn't known yet if the Beast will be a part of the story. Emilie de Ravin will first appear in Episode 1.12 of Once Upon a Time, which will air in early 2012.

Once Upon a Time debuted three weeks ago as the highest-rated new drama series of the 2011 TV season, pulling in 12.8 million viewers and a healthy 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Viewership hasn't dropped much since the debut, with 11.3 million viewers tuning into Sunday night's episode, Snow Falls, which scored a 3.7 rating.

Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8 PM ET on ABC.
