In a story from Variety, Eliza Dushku has nabbed the rights to a film about famous photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.

The film will be called The Perfect Moment and it will be directed by Ondi Timoner.

Timoner's Interloper Films and Dushku's production company Boston Diva will be bringing the film to the big screen. The movie will look at when Mapplethorpe came on to the art scene in the 1970s and go until his death in 1989 from AIDS.

"He is an artist who could not help but express his vision of the world, despite the tempest it spawned," stated Timoner. "A pariah to some, a hero to others, Mapplethorpe's talent combined with his irreverence toward social norms made him a cultural lightning rod."
