Cameras are rolling on Only Murders in the Building season 2. On Twitter, Steve Martin shared an image from the set of himself alongside co-stars Martin Short and Selena Gomez to reveal that filming on the new episodes has officially started after an acclaimed first season recently streamed on Hulu to great success, resulting in a season 2 renewal in September. In the tweet, Martin says, "Our first day of shooting of Only Murders in the Building! We’re all happy to be back." You can look at the picture below.

It was also recently reported that a newcomer has joined the cast. Cara Delevingne has boarded season 2 of Only Murders in the Building in a series regular role as Alice, a "sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery." The casting will not interfere with her role in Prime Video's Carnival Row, which has already wrapped filming on its own second season, and Delevingne is up to return in a potential third season if Amazon gives it a renewal. She is also gearing up for another collaboration with Hulu and BBC for the upcoming docuseries Planet Sex, chronicling sexual identities around the world.

Only Murders in the Building is Hulu's most-watched original comedy series. Starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the series follows three strangers with an obsession with true crime who wind up smack dab in the middle of one as they investigate the death of a neighbor in their apartment building. Without spoiling the conclusion of season 1 here for those who haven't seen it, the finale concluded in such a way that you'll have a pretty good idea on where the story is heading in season 2.

Steve Martin co-created the series with Dan Fogelman (This Is Us) and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie). When the series was renewed for season 2 in September, Hoffman said at the time, “Everyone in our amazing ‘Building’ worked with such love and expertise through extraordinary times — and with incredible support from Disney, Hulu and 20th TV — to create a first season that might live up to our legendary cast, our beloved New York City, and to make a show about connection. To feel we’ve connected with our audience and hit the mark enough already to have the chance to continue — and to carry on our show’s wild ride of mystery-comedy-empathy — is too exciting for words. So I’ll shut up now, and just say a huge thanks to all and I can’t wait for more!”

Fogelman also said on Twitter, "Thank God Steve didn’t name it Only One Murder in the Building. Congrats to this delightful team and thanks to all who are watching.”

We'll see if season 2 manages to come out quite as strong as the freshman season, which boasts a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience rating that's right up there as well at 94%. You can check out the first season of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu.
