Jeff Goldblum took to Instagram and posted a reunion picture with his Jurassic Park co-stars, Sam Neill and Laura Dern, posing in front of a huge official logo from the upcoming conclusion of the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion. Though the Jurassic World series, in its last two films, shaped up the legacy of the original trilogy, the third installment in the series will go full circle to Steven Spielberg’s original one with the previous star cast returning to join the one lead by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the new films. The film featuring the ensemble cast will feature a story that serves the heights the franchise has reached since the first film.

Neill, Dern, and Goldblum first starred in the original film as a group of scientists caught amidst chaos in a dinosaur park established by tycoon John Hammond. Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993) was about humans finding a way to replicate dinosaur DNA to recreate the extinct species, with the purpose to put them on display in a natural reserve-cum-theme park. But eventually, everything goes south and dangerous animals wreak havoc in the park, forcing our lead cast to fight for their survival.

Now, Jurassic World Dominion will be set in a neo-Jurrasic era where dinosaurs are loose open in the world, forcing humans to co-exist with them. The film is going to put Owen (Pratt) and Claire (Howard) in the center of the “ecological disaster” they created in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and will unite with Dr. Alan Grant (Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) to find a solution and neutralize the consequences of it.

Jurassic World Dominion is being marketed as a conclusion to the three-part rebooted film series, as well as to Spielberg’s original films. It’s currently not confirmed if it will be the last film of the franchise as director Colin Trevorrow has stated that the franchise may have a chance to continue further with new stories and characters coming in. However, for now, it will be the end of the story that has stretched to greater heights, as well as a conclusion to the characters we have known so far.

The film’s first feature-length trailer has already given a glimpse of the star cast’s return to the franchise. Teasing an epic climax, the final scene of the trailer hinted at a sequence that will see each of the main actors from both trilogies share the screen together against the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex. While it’s the first time for Neill and Dern to reprise their characters from the original trilogy, Goldblum had a cameo role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and will now star in a bigger and more essential role in Jurassic World Dominion.

Jurassic World Dominion is one of the most anticipated releases of the year 2022. The film was earlier slated to release in summer 2021 but its production and filming got extensively delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s currently slated to release on June 10, 2022. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow and the original film’s director Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer on the film. Besides the aforementioned lead cast, the film also stars Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon, and B.D. Wong as part of the larger ensemble.
