Comedian Orlando Jones has joined the cast of director Ron Satlof's upcoming dramedy Misconceptions. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film also stars Sarah Carter, Sam Ball, David Sutcliffe and David Moscow.

Ira Pearlstein teamed with Satlof on the screenplay. The plot finds a religious zealot that receives a special message from God: She is to act as the surrogate mother for two openly gay men. Jones is set to play Terry, one of the hopeful parents that micromanages the pregnancy and causes havoc in the process. A.J. Cook is playing Miranda, the woman who decides to carry the child for the gay couple.

The film goes into production later next month.
