Righteous Kill, the new thriller that reteams Al Pacino and Robert De Niro for the first time since 1995's Heat, has found a buyer. According to Variety, Overture Films has purchased the North American rights to the investigative drama.

Jon Avnet will direct Righteous Kill. While the famous New York actors were seen in just two short together in Heat, this new film finds them working together for much of the picture. They play a couple of investigators trying to solve the same murder.

50 Cent has also signed on to appear in the film.

There is currently no word on when the film will actually get a release date. It most likely wont be until the end of the year. Some speculations put it opening in the spring of 2008. It begins shooting this September.
