It's unfortunate for fans that Ozark is soon finished, but we haven't necessarily seen the last of this universe. There remains the possibility that a spinoff could keep the story going if Netflix decides to go that route after the final episodes air. As of now, no such plans are in place, but series co-creator Mark Williams has suggested that there could be a future for the show. That's just going to be up to the powers that be to determine the future of Ozark.

"I haven't personally [thought about it] and I think it's for Netflix and Chris [Mundy] to really figure out a little bit more how they want to take it, if they do that path," Williams told Screen Rant. "But I'd be thrilled for that to happen, obviously Ruth has been such a great character throughout, but I think it's got to be right for it. I think what we don't want to do is just put out another version just to have. I think Better Call Saul is the perfect fit, obviously, they did it so well on top of Breaking Bad, so I think it only makes sense if it works."

Ozark has often been compared to Breaking Bad, as while the two shows are different in many ways, in others they feel similar. If Breaking Bad can spawn its own successful spinoff in Better Call Saul, as Williams says, then why can't Ozark do the same?

Ozark season 4, part 2 will debut on Netflix on April 29, 2022. The fourth and final season of Ozark premiered its first seven episodes in January, and the final seven episodes are featured in part 2 that's coming in April.
