Who is part of the cast of Ozark Season 4?

Luckily for fans of Ozark, most of the main cast will be back for the final season. That includes Jason Bateman as Marty, Laura Linney as Wendy, Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore, Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell, Sofia Hublitz as Charlotte, Skylar Gaertner as Jonah, Felix Solis as Navarro, and Jessica Frances Dukes as FBI special Agent Maya Miller. But since it is Ozark we're talking about, a couple of characters will not return after dying last season, so we know that Janet McTeer as Helen Pierce, Tom Pelphrey as Ben and Marylouise as Burke therapist Sue Shelby will not reprise their roles.

Expect to see some fresh faces too, as Bruce Davison is set to star as a retired Illinois senator Randall Schafer, while Alfonso Herrera a Veronica Falcon will join the cast as Navarro family members.

Plot of Ozark Season 4

Ozark Season 4: The Fate of Each Character and Every Direction The Show Could Go

Season four will likely pick up right where season three finished, with Marty and Wendy witnessing Helen being shot by Navarro. But that is only one of many issues, seeing as the couple are now even more tied to the cartel boss, and Marty's right-hand woman Ruth Langmore (Garner) has turned against them and is now working for Darlene Snell.

Producer and star Jason Bateman told IndieWire that he knows how the show will end. He said: "I was interested in the big question [Mundy] has the opportunity to answer: Are they going to get away with it, or are they going to pay a bill? What does he want to message to the audience about the consequences of what the Byrdes have done – or lack thereof?"

Producer and showrunner Chris Mundy told Entertainment Weekly that Marty and Wendy will have to deal with the consequences of their actions in the last season, including the murders of their own family members. This is especially interesting considering that Ruth has already turned on the Byrdes and will not be happy about Ben's death, although the lack of a body hasn't convinced fans that Ben is truly dead. The series has always focused on family, so it was a bit shocking to see Wendy betray her own in the service of Oscar Navarro. The main characters of this show have a lot of moral reckoning to do, with both themselves and Navarro.

Chris Mundy also said he was happy that Netflix "recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right," which hopefully means that this story will end with care and in the most fulfilling way possible. Regardless of the outcome, though, we know that we'll enjoy the twists and turns thrown at us by the talented writers of this show. In the meantime, we can only speculate about the fate of our favourite characters.

When will the wait end? Soon, well at least half of it. The first part of season four will be released on Friday, January 21. The good news, however, is that this season will have fourteen episodes total, with each part having seven episodes. The release date for the final seven episodes has not been announced yet.

Ozark is one of the most riveting, intense, and nerve-wracking crime dramas of the past few years. This is perhaps why the show has millions of fans, all of whom have been close to a heart attack while watching the Byrdes just narrowly get away with murder. Ozark has been beloved by viewers and critics alike, garnering 32 Emmy nominations. The show has also given us some stellar performances from Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner, who even won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress. If you have yet to see the show, we recommend you start now in preparation of the new season and to see what everyone will be talking about.

While it will be sad to see it go, we cannot wait for these final episodes.
