DreamCatcher's videogame property Painkiller has just been optioned for the big screen by film company Guy Walks Into a Bar. According to Variety, Jon Berg and Todd Komarnicki are producing the film.

The game revolves around a character that is stuck in purgatory, and becomes an unwitting pawn in the fight between good and evil. It first arrived in 2004 as a first-person shooter for the PC. In 2006, a sequel entitled Painkiller: Hell Wars was released on the Xbox.

The film's tagline is currently, "Heaven's Got a Hit Man." The film will be a blend of fast-paced action, weaponry, and evil demons. There was no word on when the project would go into production.
