A rumor spread like wild fire this week that ABC has cancelled their Sunday night period drama Pan Am. The news traveled fast after series regular Karine Vanasse Tweeted that the cast and crew were told Pan Am would only be coming back for one more episode after Christmas.

Today, ABC is denying that they have canceled the ratings starved freshman series. According to the network, Pan Am remains in contention for next fall's schedule.

"Pan Am will wrap production on its first season in early January after completion of its 14th episode. A decision about about a second season will be made in May."

ABC will be filling Pan Am's Sunday Night at 10 pm timeslot with the primetime soap GCB (aka Good Christian Bitches), which begins airing in May.
