Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in Good Universe's sci-fi thriller The Panopticon for director Tarsem Singh (Immortals), who came aboard the project last August.

The story centers on a man (Keanu Reeves) who goes on a race against time, after receiving a package that includes a pre-recorded message from himself warning that he is the only man who can save the world. He must figure out this complex puzzle to save all of humanity before it's too late. Insiders claim that Good Universe hasn't reached a deal with the actor yet, and that negotiations are, "in a sensitive stage."

Craig Rosenberg (The Quiet Ones) wrote the screenplay, with Andrew Lazar (Mortdecai) set to produce. Good Universe's Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake are executive producing and handling international sales. No production schedule was given.

Keanu Reeves is coming off rave reviews for his action-thriller John Wick, and he recently wrapped production on Eli Roth's Knock, Knock and Courtney Hunt's The Whole Truth.
