In a story from Variety it seems that Jay Roach's comedy Dinner for Schmucks, a byproduct of the Paramount-DreamWorks divorce, is about to get off the ground.

Spyglass Entertainment and Paramount are going to team up and the film will star Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.

The film is about "the most pathetic guest to ever grace one man's weekly dinner gathering." The plan is for the film to start shooting in October. It is a remake of the French film Bold|Le Diner des cons.

DreamWorks will take a 33% stake in the film as soon as it puts together its own financing.

Even though DreamWorks recently partnered with Disney, the Mouse House will have no part in the making of this film.
