Paramount has picked up the comedy spec Fun Size, from The Colbert Report writer Max Werner, for Josh Schwartz to produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the acquisition is the first to be made under a two-year, first-look deal with the studio.

The plot is being kept under wraps, however Fun Size is described as a cross between Superbad and Adventures In Babysitting that is set on Halloween.

Werner said, "I grew up on John Hughes films and miss those great character-based comedies that make you feel something. 'Fun Size' is about real characters who are smart, funny and a little bit offbeat."

No production date has been set.
