According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has picked up to rights to a story about "a 12-year-old aspiring food critic" who manages to become the toast of Upper West Side of Manhattan.

In the story the subject, David Fishman, puts down his reviews in a journal. He ends up befriending "a prominent restaurateur."

The film will be produced by Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn.

What attracted Goldwyn to the film was he felt that the article "offered a recipe for a youth-themed empowerment film."
