Paramount Pictures has beat out Fox and other studios for the rights to Joe Schreiber's upcoming novel Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick, according to Deadline New York.

The novel was just sold on Friday to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and a bidding war for the adaptation rights was said to go down between Paramount and Fox before Paramount won the auction. The site also reports that Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will be involved in some capacity on the film.

The story was said to center on a high school boy whose family plays host to an Eastern European girl. While she seems normal at first glance, she reveals herself to be an assassin who is targeting five people in New York City and needs her host's help to complete the job in one night.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on this new film as soon as more information is available.
