Paramount Pictures has put Believe It or Not back into development; at the same time, the studio, along with DreamWorks, has started production on Sweeney Todd with Tim Burton as the director.

There's no cast set yet for the Broadway adaptated film (Sweeney Todd), according to The Hollywood Reporter, however Tim Burton is trying to wrangle up Johnny Depp for the lead role as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. John Logan (The Aviator) is writing the screenplay from the Stephen Sondheim musical.

As far as Believe It or Not, starring Jim Carrey, Burton and producers Richard Zanuck, Sean Daniel and Jim Jacks had been battling on the budget which reached $150 million in pre-production.

Sweeney Todd has a 2008 release set; no production dates have been scheduled.
