Viacom Entertainment CEO Phillippe Dauman said Tuesday that they are moving in on a sequel to this fall's surprise horror hit Paranormal Activity. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duaman's team is in the trenches trying to figure out the proper way to approach Paranormal Activity 2.
Dauman stated in a Viacom earnings report Tuesday morning that Paranormal Activity was a surprise hit that only comes along very rarely. Yet, the film's success comes from its element of surprise. Which simply won't be there the second time around. Dauman plans to rectify this.
Dauman told analysts, "Our team will come up with the right creative and marketing approach." Oren Peli is unlikely to return as a director, but he is currently rumored to be involved with the producing and writing side of things.
