Back in January, we reported that Paramount has set aside the October 19 release date for Paranormal Activity 4, continuing the franchise tradition of an October release. Today we have word that The River producer Zack Estrin has signed on to write the script for Paranormal Activity 4.

No details were given regarding the story line for this sequel. Paranormal Activity 3 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are expected to return for Paranormal Activity 4, although an insider said their deals aren't set in stone quite yet. If they do sign on the dotted line, they will be the first filmmakers to direct more than one Paranormal Activity movie.
