Two of the biggest stars on the planet at this current moment in time are finally coming together on the big screen. And it just might mark them as the new Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan of the Millennial generation. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence headline the sci-fi thriller Passengers. Today, we have new photos of their trip to space.
On a routine journey through space to a new home, two passengers, sleeping in suspended animation, are awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions. As Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction... until they discover the ship is in grave danger. With the lives of 5000 sleeping passengers at stake, only Jim and Aurora can save them all.
We can thank Black Film for these latest images. They show Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence getting ready for their big date in deep space. We also get to see one of the only other actors in the movie, Michael Sheen, who plays the android bartender Arthur.
Passengers has been given a December 21 release date, with this sci-fi movie going up against Assassin's Creed, Sing and The Space Between Us. It will also open just five days after Disney and LucasFilm's highly-anticipated Star Wars spinoff Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Also debuting just after Passengers is Paramount's Fences, The Weinstein Company's Gold and 20th Century Fox's Why Him, all arriving on Christmas Day.
Passengers was directed by Morten Tyldum with a script from Jon Spaihts. It's already being predicted that this will be one of the year's biggest blockbusters, and will help fill the void left by Gravity and The Martian in years past. Take a look at the latest photos, and then be sure to check out the movie this winter.
