Last month we got our first look at stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in photos from Passengers, hitting theaters December 21. Many fans hoped that the first trailer would be just around the corner. Instead, the first poster has debuted. This one-sheet gives us a fresh look at both Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in this original sci-fi drama.

On a routine journey through space to a new home, two passengers, sleeping in suspended animation, are awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions. As Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction... until they discover the ship is in grave danger. With the lives of 5000 sleeping passengers at stake, only Jim and Aurora can save them all.

The poster, which debuted at Flickering Myth, doesn't reveal too much, since it seems to be a different version of one of the photos that debuted earlier this month. Still, there are some colorful lines seen over Jennifer Lawrence's face that could warrant further exploration. We still don't know when the first trailer will drop, but we may get the footage quite soon. We don't know for sure if the trailer will feature any of the movie's sex scenes, which Jennifer Lawrence revealed she needed to get drunk to perform, because she hated the idea of kissing a married man.

Passengers has been given a December 21 release date, with this sci-fi movie going up against Assassin's Creed, Sing and The Space Between Us. It will also open just five days after Disney and LucasFilm's highly-anticipated Star Wars spinoff Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Also debuting just after Passengers is Paramount's Fences, The Weinstein Company's Gold and 20th Century Fox's Why Him, all arriving on Christmas Day.

Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) is directing from an original screenplay by Jon Spaihts, which landed on the Black List in 2007. The project was previously being developed with Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon set to star, but that incarnation never moved forward, until Morten Tyldum came aboard and cast Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. Take a look at the new poster below, and stay tuned for more on Passengers.
