Nappily Ever After: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Real Women Have Curves helmer Patricia Cardoso has come on board to direct Universal Pictures' Nappily Ever After, the Halle Berry starrer that the actress is producing along with studio-based Marc Platt and his Marc Platt Prods.

The dramedy, based on Trisha Thomas' novel, follows a black woman's journey to self-discovery. On an impulse, the main character, an advertising exec tired of fussing with her long and processed straight hair, shaves it off and kicks out her commitment-phobic boyfriend. Discovering a newfound freedom, she is unprepared for how friends and co-workers react to her new hairdo and subsequent new life. Tina Chism adapted the novel for the screen. With Cardoso now on board, the director will supervise a Chism-penned rewrite and begin prepping the project for the screen.

Stay tuned for more on this project...
