It seems that Paul Rudd is in talks to become a schmuck for DreamWorks. According to Entertainment Weekly's Hollywood Insider column, Rudd is in talks to join the cast of Dinner With Schmucks.

Steve Carell has been in talks to replace Sacha Baron Cohen, who dropped out of the project way back in 2006 due to scheduling conflicts. According to the site, an offer is still out to Carell for the role, but he has yet to accept it as of yet.

The film is a remake of the French comedy Le Diner de Cons, which centers on a self-centered man who takes to a "Dinner for Schmucks" event and his life is thrown into turmoil when the guest turns out to be more than he had bargained for. The offer out to Carell is to play the schmuck guest while Rudd would portray the egotistical man.

We'll keep you posted on any updates surrounding this film.
