Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning ThiefNot even a time-traveling tub or a horrific town could top last week's family-friendly new release on home video charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Lightning Thief topped the DVD sales, rentals and Blu-ray sales charts, for the week ending July 4.

The Fox film which starred Logan Lerman was easily the top selling title on the DVD charts, with new releases Hot Tub Time Machine and The Crazies in a distant second and third place. It was said that Hot Tub Time Machine only sold 60% of the units that Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief sold, while The Crazies only sold 33% as many copies.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief and Hot Tub Time Machine finished in first and second place on the DVD rental charts as well, with The Crazies debuting in fifth place in rentals and all three films finished 1-2-3 on the Blu-ray sales charts as well.

The ratios between each release was similar on all three charts, with Hot Tub Time Machine raking in only 74% as much rental revenue as Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief and The Crazies amassing only 37% as much in rentals. On the BD sales charts, Hot Tub Time Machine sold just 65% as many 1080p discs as Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief and The Crazies selling just 42% as many high-def discs.
